"Mister Whistler loses his train ticket at the station. Thanks to some beautiful dance moves, he might still make the train…" Mr Whistler by Margaret Mahy, and illustrated by Gavin Bishop, is a beloved children's story. This project presented the challenge of making the story even more accessible by porting to the iPad and introducing an interactive component. Interactions needed to appear seemless and flow conceptually with the narrative elements of the story. The final application was built on the Google Chrome web browser, with front-end coding languages (HTML / CSS/ JavaScript), using an iPad emulator. The final product encouraged the use of tap, scroll and blow interactions to ensure that Mr Whistler retains all of his coins and manages to make his train!
